Our Commitment
Midwest Mind & Body Healthcare is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards. We view accessibility as a central part of clinical access: if you cannot use the website, you cannot reach the care.
Standards We Follow
This website aims to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.1 AA is the standard most widely recognized under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act (for federal-related contexts), and the accessibility statutes of the states where we provide care.
Measures We Take
- Semantic structure. We use proper HTML landmarks, headings, lists, and form labels so that screen readers can present pages in a logical order.
- Alternative text. Meaningful images include descriptive alternative text; decorative images are marked as such so they do not clutter the screen-reader experience.
- Keyboard navigation. All interactive elements (navigation, buttons, form controls, the cookie banner, and the mobile menu) can be operated with a keyboard alone.
- Color contrast. Body text, headings, and interactive elements meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text and UI components).
- Responsive and zoomable. Pages reflow and remain usable at 200% browser zoom and on small screens, without horizontal scrolling.
- Readable typography. We use two established typefaces (Inter for body text, Playfair Display for headings) at sizes and line-heights appropriate for comfortable reading.
- Focus indicators. Browser default focus indicators are preserved so keyboard users can see where they are on the page.
- Motion. We avoid automatic motion or parallax that can cause discomfort. Scroll-triggered fade-in effects are subtle and respect the user's
prefers-reduced-motionpreference where supported. - Forms and errors. Forms use visible labels and descriptive helper text. Error messages (when present) identify the field and what to fix.
- Language and language of parts. The page language is declared in HTML, and where we quote non-English terms we label them appropriately.
Assistive Technologies Supported
We test our pages against current versions of commonly used assistive technologies, including:
- Screen readers: NVDA and JAWS (on Windows), VoiceOver (on macOS and iOS), TalkBack (on Android).
- Modern desktop and mobile browsers: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge.
- Zoom and magnification tools built into modern operating systems and browsers.
- Voice control technologies such as Dragon NaturallySpeaking and Voice Control on macOS/iOS.
Known Limitations
We work hard to keep the site accessible, but some gaps can exist from time to time. If you encounter one of the following, please let us know and we will work to resolve it:
- Third-party content we embed (such as the online-booking page hosted by Tebra or the reviews widget provided by Trustindex) is maintained by those vendors. We select accessible vendors where possible and ask them to remediate issues we report.
- PDF or image-only documents that predate this website may not be fully tagged. We will provide an accessible alternative on request.
- Complex tables or data visualizations, where used, include accessible text summaries.
Accommodations for Clinical Care
Beyond the website, we accommodate patients with disabilities in our clinical services. This includes, at no cost to the patient and to the extent permitted by law:
- Qualified sign-language interpreters for scheduled visits, provided in advance when requested.
- Real-time captioning or written communication during video visits, on request.
- Large-print or plain-text copies of our intake forms, consent forms, and this Notice.
- Telehealth visits for patients who cannot easily travel, where clinically appropriate and where state licensure permits.
- Extended visit time when needed to ensure effective communication.
Please tell us about any accommodation you need when you schedule, so we can arrange it in advance.

Formal Complaints
If we cannot resolve your concern informally, you may file a complaint with the United States Department of Justice, which enforces Title III of the ADA as applied to places of public accommodation, including healthcare providers. You may also contact the civil-rights office of your state's attorney general. Contacting us first is not required, but it usually produces faster results.

Ongoing Work
Accessibility is not a one-time project. We review new pages before they go live, we audit the full site periodically, and we treat user-reported barriers as high-priority fixes. If the standards above are updated or superseded (for example, when WCAG 2.2 or 3.0 becomes the generally accepted benchmark), we will update this statement and the site accordingly.
